AHP- micro fuse 3 | 5 x 20 mm, 250V | Sound insulation for optimum current flow

Following many successful years, Mr Jungblut of AHP is updating his entire range of audiophile micro-fuses. This means that, from mid-July 2026, the revised 5x20mm micro-fuse (Version 3) for audio/video components will be launched on the market.

Like its predecessor, the new AHP Sound Fuse 3 consists of gold-plated copper contact caps and a copper fuse element. The difference with Version 3 lies in the completely redesigned gold-plated copper caps, which provide even better contact.

The AHP Precision Fuse 3 thus offers an even further optimised current flow for hi-fi components, resulting in even better sound quality.

Note: There are currently no plans for a pure copper version of the AHP micro fuse 3.

Advantages of the AHP 3 micro-fuse compared with standard industrial fuses:

• Contact caps made from high-quality copper, gold-plated
• High-quality fused fuse made from pure copper. Here too, the copper conductor ensures a more pleasing tonal quality
• Housing made from a resonance-optimised ceramic tube filled with extinguishing agent. Compared to glass-tube fuses, this offers a significant improvement in quality and sound
• The filling ensures a constant conductor temperature. The conductor filament is ‘stabilised’ and therefore delivers consistent electrical characteristics. The sound is consistently more relaxed and smooth. The high-quality, resonance-optimised ceramic tube gives your equipment a calm and assured sound.

Important note regarding audiophile micro-fuses:
In rare cases, particularly when used in equipment (e.g. amplifiers) with high inrush currents (such as Naim and Accuphase), audiophile micro-fuses may trip and blow on their very first use.

Why is this the case?
Audiophile micro-fuses (regardless of the manufacturer) have a very narrow tolerance up to the point at which they trip (blow) in order to protect your equipment. The manufacturer Padis has demonstrated in tests that standard fuses fitted as standard in equipment can have a tolerance of up to 100 per cent compared to the amperage rating stated on the fuse.

You should therefore consult the manufacturer or distributor of your equipment before replacing any fuses and ask for the recommended fuse ratings!

All AHP micro fuses are 100% tested and in working order. The customer replaces the fuses at their own risk. No claims will be accepted.
