Elicit MK 5 is the name of Rega's latest integrated amplifier, whose design fits seamlessly into the rest of the Rega product range.

It is based on earlier circuit technologies and uses the multi-award-winning Rega Class A/B power amplifier circuit to deliver a powerful 105 watts per channel into 8 ohm loads. Power is supplied by a generous, low-noise, multi-stage linear power supply, with galvanic isolation between the digital and analogue sections. The Elicit is capable of driving even difficult loudspeakers with ease and fits perfectly into any audio system thanks to its versatile connection options. In addition to line, digital and a high-quality MM (moving magnet) phono input, it also features a pre-out, a direct-in, a record loop function and a powerful headphone output.

Key details of the Elicit have been taken directly from the highly acclaimed Aethos amplifier. You will notice that the same discrete FET-based preamplifier circuitry and Alps volume potentiometer are used to further enhance the sonic and technical characteristics. As you would expect, special attention has been paid to the selection of the most important components. Discrete circuits, high-quality relays, polypropylene capacitors and Sanken output transistors are used.

The galvanically/optically isolated digital inputs use a Wolfson S/PDIF receiver IC to deliver optimal sound characteristics from any connected source. Conversion is performed by a Wolfson DAC and a discrete line driver circuit developed by Rega.
