The Dali OBERON 1 bookshelf loudspeaker is the most compact loudspeaker in the series. The Dali OBERON 1 compact speaker works with the large and extremely light 29 mm fabric dome tweeter and a 130 mm (5 1/4'') woofer with a wooden fibre cone and a magnet system based on SMC technology. The Dali OBERON 1 compact speaker can be placed on a shelf, on a stand or - thanks to the integrated wall bracket - directly on the wall.

Like its larger sister models, the Dali Oberon 1 shelf speaker works with the generously dimensioned and extremely lightweight 29 mm fabric dome tweeter, which ensures a very spacious and detailed sound image.

The bass-midrange driver of the bookshelf loudspeaker has a 130 mm (5 1/4'') wooden fibre cone and a magnet system based on SMC technology. In smaller rooms, the DALI OBERON 1 delivers an amazingly powerful bass response thanks to its slim cabinet size.

The extremely flexible HiFi compact speaker can be placed on a shelf, on a stand or - thanks to the integrated wall bracket - directly on the wall.

SIMPLE PLACING
When designing the drivers and crossovers as well as the materials used, great importance was attached to ensuring a particularly wide dispersion pattern. Thus, without angling the loudspeakers towards the listening position, an extremely three-dimensional sound image that is well integrated into the room can also be achieved outside the classic stereo triangle.

MODERN DESIGN
The rounded corners and the coarse-meshed structure of the fabrics give the front covers of the OBERON loudspeakers a unique design. The two floor-standing loudspeakers also have an elegant, resonance-reducing aluminium base.

WOOD Fiber MEMBRANE
The cones of the mid-bass drivers consist of a mixture of fine-grained paper pulp reinforced by the addition of wood fibres, resulting in a stiff, lightweight structure with excellent acoustic properties. In combination with particularly low-loss beads and centering spiders, the cone diaphragms reproduce even the finest sound details extremely clearly and precisely.

PATENTED SMC
The pole piece of the magnet systems used in the OBERON bass/midrange drivers consists of a combination of iron and the patented magnet material SMC. Thanks to the significantly reduced third-order distortion, the OBERON loudspeakers provide a longer, more relaxed listening experience with unobtrusive mids and a wealth of detail that is astounding in this class.

DER DEPTH MATER
Like all DALI drivers designed to reproduce mid and low frequencies, the 130mm (5 1/4'') OBERON 1 bass/midrange driver also features a wood fibre cone. The mixture of a fine-grained paper pulp reinforced by the addition of wood fibres results in a stiff, lightweight structure with excellent acoustic properties. In combination with particularly low-loss beads and centering spiders, the cone diaphragm reproduces even the finest sound details extremely clearly and precisely.

The cone is surrounded by a rubber surround which, due to its soft and very flexible material, allows the cone to oscillate absolutely freely, has very low damping and the magnet system allows the cone movement to be controlled very precisely.

DER HOCHTÖNER
The tweeter with its ultra-light, 29 mm diameter fabric dome was specially developed for the OBERON series. The diaphragm is made of an extremely lightweight fabric that weighs less than half as much as most other dome tweeters on the market, at just 0.060 mg per mm2.

Thanks to the large diaphragm, the tweeter achieves a higher sound pressure level at a lower excursion, which means that the voice coil can always move with extreme precision and control. The tweeter's magnet system is cooled with ferrofluid to provide higher power handling, perfect damping and support for absolutely centred voice coil excursion.

The extremely light dome tweeter manufactured by DALI is also optimized for a larger bandwidth in its lower frequency range. This ensures a seamless transition from bass-midrange to tweeter with a balanced, airy and very harmonious reproduction of the upper midrange.

The front panel of the tweeter is designed similar to the OPTICON and RUBICON series in order to create optimum working conditions for the fabric dome with regard to a wide frequency response, a very wide angle radiation and as little discoloration as possible.

SMC
The use of SMC in the magnet system significantly reduces mechanical distortion caused by hysteresis and eddy currents. In combination, these improvements to the magnetic drive significantly reduce third-order distortion, which is why the OBERON Series speakers provide a longer, more relaxed listening experience with unobtrusive mids and an amazing level of detail in this class.

The drive consists of a large ferrite magnet enclosing a pole piece made of a unique combination of iron and SMC. SMC is a magnetic powder that makes it possible to form strong magnets that do not conduct electricity. Since the ferrite iron only forms the base of the pole piece, the negative effects of the iron are minimized, while the 10 mm thick SMC disc is placed on top of the pole piece exactly in the middle of the main working area of the four-layer voice coil. This guarantees the maximum effect of the SMC on the voice coil environment, resulting in a greatly improved constant flux field.

THE BODY OF THE DALI OBERON 1
The cabinet of the OBERON 1 consists of CNC-milled MDF panels coated with carefully selected, high-quality vinyl foils, providing a solid basis for mounting the loudspeaker chassis.

In the interest of optimum timing, all the inside of the cabinet - with the exception of the back of the baffle - is lined with acoustic insulation material. This ensures more direct contact between the woofer and the bass reflex port, resulting in a more precise bass and an open, highly transparent midrange.

The bass reflex ports are located at the rear of the cabinet to ensure the strongest possible bass response by supporting the sound waves reflected from the wall behind the speakers.

The front covers of the OBERON series have also been redesigned. The elegant rounded covers, covered with a specially textured fabric, give the loudspeakers an extremely pleasing and modern look.
The lighter cabinet versions white and light oak are supplied with grey mottled front covers, the darker cabinet colours black and walnut are supplied with black covers. A white version is also available as an optional accessory.
