With its new Celebrity series, Clearaudio pays tribute to great artists.

This Clearaudio Celebrity Edition is dedicated to the American jazz guitarist Al Di Meola, a multiple award-winner, including a US Grammy Award. The turntable’s base unit consists of a body made from high-density wood fibre (black) and is modelled on the shape of an electric guitar. It was created in close collaboration with Al Di Meola.

Inside the turntable lies the finest clearaudio technology. The turntable is driven by a flat belt that runs through the new Tacho-Speed-Control (‘TSC’). Here, the speed is constantly monitored and fed back to the control electronics in real time, enabling an immediate response to changing factors (belt tension, temperature fluctuations, etc.). Furthermore, thanks to TSC, an automatic speed calibration is carried out every time the turntable is restarted.

The decoupled motor suspension, utilising several O-rings (‘IMS – Innovative Motor Suspension’), which has been adapted from the clearaudio Reference Jubilee turntable, prevents unnecessary vibrations and transmission from the motor to the chassis. The new control technology, featuring integrated auto-calibration and new setting options, has also been incorporated here.

The unique design of the Celebrity turntable combines functionality with aesthetics. Consequently, the volume control knob of the ‘electric guitar’ is transformed into a multifunctional control with a push-button function.
With a simple press of a button, the turntable is started, the speed is switched between 33 1/3 and 45 rpm, and the turntable is put into standby mode. In calibration mode, the speeds are fine-tuned by turning the control.

The Celebrity turntable’s exterior design is rounded off by a special version of our Profiler tonearm and a new MM cartridge, which also bears the name Celebrity. The Celebrity turntable is available exclusively in black or with a wood-effect finish (genuine rosewood veneer).

In total, this package is limited to 1,000 units and, complete with a specially numbered limited-edition vinyl release of the artist’s album and a guitar pick, makes for a genuine collector’s item.
