As far as impulse fidelity and freedom from distortion are concerned, air-core coils are unbeatable for physical reasons. For this reason, Mundorf stocks air core coils with wire diameters of up to 3.0 mm for all purists. In this way even larger inductors with relatively low internal resistance can be realized. The vacuum impregnation also leads to a greater variety of details and spatiality of music reproduction in the air-core coils described here.
