Furutech incorporates nano-sized polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramic particles that exhibit electrogenerative properties. These properties are combined with carbon powder, which has thermally conductive properties. In the Monza, these materials convert electrical and mechanical vibrations into heat, which is then dissipated and released.

The precision-machined, perfectly finished and non-magnetic stainless steel base, as well as the top module, are connected by a layer of damping carbon fibre. The base surface is covered with 16 concentric damping grooves containing an extremely effective piezoelectric damping material.

Furutech’s Pure Transmission piezo-ceramic carbon products – such as the innovative, award-winning FI-50 connector series – feature a remarkable ‘active system’ design. Furutech creates a unique material by using two ‘active’ materials: nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder. Only nano-ceramic particles form effective pairs with carbon powder, thereby creating the conditions for the piezo effect.

Nylon and glass fibre are also incorporated into the design, resulting in an extremely effective mechanically and electrically damped material blend. That is not a misprint – it is also electrically damped.

Piezoelectric effects are the key. Furutech’s nano-sized polycrystalline ferroelectric ceramic particles exhibit electrogenerative properties (mechanical pressure generates an electrical charge) when combined with carbon powder. The thermally conductive properties of the carbon powder interact with the electrically charged ferroelectric ceramic particles and help to convert their energy into heat. This heat is dissipated and released from the surface of the material, thereby establishing the link between the electrical and mechanical vibrations.
