MCoil BL100 - air coil with self bonding wire 1,00 mm

Air-core coils (i.e. coils without ferromagnetic core material) are absolutely distortion-free and therefore the optimum coils. This statement is only limited by the ohmic resistance which increases with the inductance. For large inductors you need either very large wire cross-sections (we therefore offer coils with a wire diameter of up to 3 mm as standard) or, for financial reasons or because of the size, you can use core coils.

Air-core coils are unbeatable in terms of pulse fidelity and freedom from distortion, for physical reasons. For this reason, Mundorf stocks air core coils with wire diameters up to 3.0 mm for all purists. In this way even larger inductors with relatively low internal resistance can be realized. The vacuum impregnation also leads to a greater variety of details and spatiality of music reproduction in the air-core coils described here.
