Enjoy music - judge sound! A truly musical pleasure with this very special DALI album. On the occasion of the company's 35th birthday an album with well-known Danish artists was recorded. A very successful idea from the marketing department of DALI A/S.

The idea was that the fifth edition of the audiophile DALI albums should not only contain a collection of top-class songs and artists as before. This time they also wanted to offer DALI fans an exclusive music programme exclusively available on this album.

Thought, done. In the second half of 2017, 17 Danish musicians, bands and singers, all celebrated in their home countries, met in the legendary Copenhagen Medley Studios. Here the titles were recorded live under optimal audiophile and technical conditions and produced by DALI. Musicians and sound engineers were anxious to record all instruments as well as lead and backing vocals uncompressed and without auto-tune, thus capturing the unique studio atmosphere and typical tonal subtleties. The album's booklet contains precise technical information about the recordings - which microphones were used and how, which mixing console was used, and much more.

With experienced sound engineer Jakob Groth and industry legend Bjørn Engelmann from the Stockholm Cutting Room, who was responsible for the mastering, the artists were given the rare freedom to "do their thing" without being turned by the usual mincer of musical conformity. This was a challenging task, as we wanted the artists to direct and control the entire recording process, and the other side of the mixer required concentrated precision work during the two days reserved for each track. This approach resulted in numerous takes, two of which were never identical, but which reflected the charm of the process. The excellent sounding, unbelievably fun end result is 17 original recordings by artists who had the opportunity to make music without time pressure at the legendary Medley Studios in Copenhagen.

That's why the 17 tracks in this release offer a wide range of musical genres, styles and sounds. And each of them is a tonal craftsmanship that should be listened to thoroughly and more often in order to discover all the musical and tonal refinements.
